Ministry

We believe that spiritual growth is for everyone.
When we gather weekly in a small group, we experience the hope and joy of our faith journey through mutual support and wisdom.
We commit ourselves to grow in a loving relationship with God and each other. The small groups in our church are growing in numbers and multiplying.
Please join our small group!

Please contact our church office to find the best available option for you.

Our congregation mirrors our community: East St Paul. Our community is multi-ethnic and multi-lingual. Throughout our multi-lingual/ multi-cultural worship services we reach out to our community as well. As a center for many Christian faith communities, Mounds Park UMC shares its church building with a Karen Baptist congregation and Hispanic SDA congregation. Overcoming ethnic and denominational differences, we three congregations join in a multi-lingual/ multi-cultural worship service every season. We welcome all people with different cultural backgrounds.

Our congregation has once again started offering bags of groceries to help individuals over rough spots in their life.  Barbara Plumley and Barbara Wakefield have teamed up to shop and package two different types of bags; one for anyone who is homeless and has no cooking facilities and one for families who may find themselves caught short for groceries but who have the ability to cook meals.  Cash donations are always the best way to help but no food donation will ever be turned away.  We need your support now more than ever due to more people being in need during the pandemic.

Community Garden provides an easy access to green space, land, gardening and fresh food for our Dayton's Bluff community. Our congregation plants vegetable, but the harvest is for everyone in the community.

The McVay Youth Partnership (Youth-VOICE) offers a safe, fun place for middle and high school students. Students spend time with their friends creating art, music, drama and can receive help with their homework. Service projects and presentations by local leaders enable students to explore the community.

The McVay Youth Partnership is staffed by experienced and energetic McVay Fellows and McVay Interns. All fellows and interns receive training and are supported by Hamline University staff.

Urban CROSS is a grass-roots locally grown mission project. Mounds Park United Methodist Church (MPUMC) has challenged itself to better meet the needs of its neighborhood (Dayton's Bluff) and Urban CROSS is one of the ways we are doing this. At Urban CROSS, members and neighbors of MPUMC are serving in the neighborhood, and we are inviting you to join us in blessing others.
